Walking your path with support

A Supportive Space to Be Heard and Understood

I’m Kay, a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I came into counselling through a deep belief that people deserve a space where they can feel heard and understood.

Over the years, I’ve found myself drawn to supporting others, gaining experience working with individuals, children and families. This has included supporting people navigating financial pressures, fertility challenges, neurodivergent individuals, and those within the LGBTQIA+ community. These experiences have helped me understand the importance of creating a space where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and able to explore what they’re going through at their own pace.

Support for all adults

Feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed by family pressures, or carrying the impact of difficult experiences whether emotional, financial or physical. Alongside this, many people hold the pressures, identities, and emotional load many carry. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who have spent time masking, coping alone, or feeling misunderstood.

How I Work

Confidential & Collaborative Counselling

If I am your counsellor, I will provide a confidential, consistent, and respectful space where you can explore whatever is on your mind. I will work collaboratively with you, helping you reflect on patterns, understand your emotions, and develop insight into what you need. Your privacy and safety are important to me. I am fully insured, registered with the ICO, and follow UK GDPR so that all personal information is kept secure and confidential.

Calm, Supportive Online Therapy

My approach is gentle, thoughtful, and centred around your pace and your goals. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s going on for you, and feel heard without judgement. I work online with clients across the UK, creating a grounded environment that helps people feel safe enough to slow down, breathe, and begin making sense of their experiences.

Person Centred Approach Tailored to You

I work from a predominantly person centred approach, which means I focus on creating a warm, non judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I also enjoy bringing in elements from different therapeutic models when they can enhance our work together and support your individual needs. At Ivy Path Counselling, every story is welcomed, and every path is valid.

What Clients Say

Online Counselling

I offer online counselling sessions, working with clients in Southend-on-Sea, across Essex, and throughout the UK. Online therapy provides flexibility and accessibility, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Although I am based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, I currently offer online sessions only. This means you can attend counselling wherever you are in the UK, without the need to travel. Many clients find that meeting online helps them feel more at ease, creating a familiar environment where they can speak openly and reflect at their own pace. Online counselling can be just as effective as in-person therapy, offering a consistent and confidential space to explore your thoughts and emotions. All you need is a quiet space and a stable internet connection.

Sessions & Fees

Session length: Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes and usually takes place on a weekly basis. This regular rhythm helps create a steady, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Session fee: Sessions are £40 each.

Low cost spaces: I offer a limited number of reduced fee spaces for people on low incomes or for students. If this would make counselling more accessible for you, please feel free to contact me to ask about current availability.

Initial consultation: Before we begin working together, I offer a free 30-minute video consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether counselling with me feels like the right fit.

Payment is made by bank transfer before each session begins. Alternative card methods including Apple and Google Pay are also accepted. Details will be provided once we arrange your first appointment.
